He had almost forgotten about the fact he hauled a cute young blonde up onto the roof with him and that she had been putting off rays like a crazy glow stick. He turned slowly to face her, hood still up as she spoke and he had to quickly decide how to handle the situation now. He didn't really think things out as far as one would expect his super-fast mind to do so. He had just reacted to the situation in front of him, using his powers as they came naturally and a big part of that whole thing frightened him. Deep down..he didn't know if he could handle being one of those heroes.
He watched her as she spoke, his eyes flicking over her own and he once again shifted into thinking about how he should handle this. He wasn't what she thought he was, he knew that much. His handsome face turned to regard something at the store as the police began to arrive. Apparently, a squad car had been close by. But not close enough. His lips wetted briefly and then he spoke, deep bass rumbling with a surprisingly smooth tone.
"You could have..probably would have been messier."
He looked her up and down again before speaking, accidentally allowing the slightest chuckle into his voice that gave a hint as to how the reality of the moment was setting in.
"Who are you?"
It was weird that the man who moved as fast as thought would as that question, he had been able to do things that people thought to be impossible. But he had never once really given thought to using them for the benefit of everyone around him. Not seriously, maybe as a fantasy, but never as an actual option he could follow as a purpose. She, however, had done just that earlier today and it was the reason they stood where they were at now. She was cute, he had to admit that. But he couldn't let that distract him.
