Wrestling the man for the gun wasn't the easiest thing Cassie had ever set out to do, he was much taller and stronger than her. Still illuminated, she hoped the man would eventually give up in an attempt to get away from the light, to recover his vision. He apparently had different ideas, firing the gun yet again.
After that, Cassie lost track of exactly what was going on around her. There was a blur from the door and before she fully registered it, the clerk was no longer standing behind the counter, the gun was a pile of pieces nearby her feet, and the robber was several feet away, slumped against a rack with bottles all around him.
She looked around trying to figure out exactly how it happened when she noticed a hooded man. Before she could ask the man what had occurred, Cassie felt the man take hold of her. Once again there were a few seconds of blurriness and then everything seemed normal.
Except she was on a rooftop a couple of blocks away.
Instinctively running her hands through her hair, making sure it still looked presentable, she looked out over the neighborhood. "How did you..." she started to say before trailing off. She glanced up at the man, Cassie's mind was racing, trying to figure out what had happened. He was definitely another Super, the first she had run into, a few years older than her. "Thank you." She managed. "There was no way I could have finished that alone." Cassie said, looking back down at the city below.
