"Oh, I'm fine. Just clumsy." Teagan rolled her eyes, doing her best to cover up her embarrassment. Elegant. That was a better word than cute. Something in the man's eyes made Teagan feel woefully inferior. As though she were sitting at a performance evaluation or going to a job interview. She didn't know why she felt that way, really. The guy couldn't be that much older than her, and while he was interesting-looking, he didn't exactly exude authority figure. She chuckled. "There's a good reason I don't work in a china store, I guess."
Turning to the other boy, she shook her head. "I should do it. If a customer falls off the ladder and sues the store, my boss'll... Actually, go right ahead," she said, changing her mind and letting him have full custody of the rolling ladder. "I'm not working here for long, anyway. That's real nice of you, by the way."
