Leo stamped on the cassette before he ripped the tape out, tossing it in a dumpster as he exited the lobby of his hotel dressed in non-descript jeans, a white t-shirt and a green army surplus jacket. He hadn't had a fixed home or address in ten years; he liked the anonymity of hotels and the easy exit even more. He'd been in Axis three days before he received the tape; clearly news travelled fast here. Educated guess told him it was Moretti; he dealt in cloak and dagger better than a lot of people Leo knew. And he paid well.
He stood across the street from the black sedan until fifteen minutes past. Waiting until everyone had either moved on or had lost interest in whoever it might be waiting for. As he crossed the street he brushed past a young man; hair like an anime character and eyes heavily made up in eye-liner. In the next minute or so the young man would lose his wallet and get both eyes blacked. And it was to the sound of the man's yelp of pain and fear that Leo climbed into the Sedan.
Sure enough they pulled up at Moretti's. He climbed out, barely awknowledging the driver and entered the building.
