Just kidding, there are enough of those.
So! Some quick new/more info about things, so that we can all be on the same page. Do feel free to ask more questions!
1) Discord.
There’s been some interest about a discord server. Would everyone / anyone like one of those set up? No pressure, but that can totally be a thing if people are about it for ease of plotting, etc.
Okay, cool Here it is!
2) Phones, Dates, seasons, etc.
In order to keep things from being generally confusing, we’re going to run on current month/day/year basis. (US based, sorry to my Australian peeps who live in the future.) The phones (which run on solar batteries, fwiw) will have that information on them. The phones are all connected, and can work as a network/forum as well as for individual texting and calling. (Also, since it's been asked, user Icons are really just for OOC happiness, so introductions will have to be made as if they don't exist).
Currently in our Town with No Name, the weather is mild and cool, like a very early spring. It will be much cooler at night than during the day, but so far there has been no sign of wet or snow. If anyone is interested, we can keep a weekly update for weather things.
3) You all might have noticed in the FAQs about a mysterious building that features doors to alternate dimensions. It’s most definitely a thing, and we very much encourage players to have their characters go exploring!
Here’s some stuff to keep in mind:
+ The doors open always to random places. Once that door is closed, there’s absolutely no guarantee that whatever reality was there earlier will show up or be found again. That said, it would be very bad for a character to get stuck behind one of those doors. They cannot live in one of those alternate dimension/realities. Their phones will not work in those realities, either.
+ We aren’t going to police what kinds of places you can find behind those doors, but we will have some plots that will depend on them in the future, and will keep a running list of what kinds of place people might find (link to come, once it’s up).
+ Scavenging things from other worlds is recommended, because right now, the Town isn’t particularly self sufficient, and resources will be low pretty quickly with the influx of people coming in. Please remember that characters can only return with what they can carry, and what they can fit through a normal sized doorway. Anything too unworldly or out of place (i.e.: fantastical or deadly creatures, highly advanced tech, etc) should be run by the mods!
Cohesion and communication are key in times like these!
