The last few weeks had been a bitch. Between Spencer being sick as a dog and Greer busting ass to sell as many photos as she could and nail down as many photography sessions as possible. After all, getting medicine for her sister was priority number one. And now that she was doing better, Greer was busting the pavement once again. Greer learned a long time ago that high tech stuff didn't work in the wyrdstorms. She'd worked as hard as she could and searched everywhere she could think of in order to find one of the old types of cameras. Cameras were you had to develop the film yourself in a dark room with one of those red lights. So she'd looked and she'd looked, until by a stroke of luck, she'd managed to come across one. That had been the most important find of her life. Mainly because people would pay out the ass for a good picture of a wyrdstorm. And Greer? Greer had been just crazy enough to go after the storm and get as many images of it as possible. As close as possible. She wasn't completely stupid, however. Spencer needed her, which was what kept her from being too crazy. But she'd gotten some good ones. And once developed, she'd gotten some great photos that she was certain people would pay for. They'd saved up enough for the rent at the apartment and now Spencer was good enough that she could go back to work as well. That was bringing in a good extra bit. All Greer had to do was keep doing her thing and keep supporting her baby sister. That was a good enough life for her. Hustle, take care of Little Sister, take photographs of people and things. Use her gift when they needed it. It all interconnected and, really, Greer couldn't be happier right now. So lost in her thoughts, she was, that Greer didn't notice the person coming her direction until it was too late and she was on the ground, her photos around her. "Oof, Jesus Christ, I'm so sorry. I wasn't even paying attention to where I was going or what I was doing. Didn't mean to make you an unwilling victim to my clumsiness," she replied, running her fingers through her hair before trying to pick up her photos. |
