She stood in the dragon pit, and the dragons were big as castles now, looking down at her with hungry eyes. There was nothing between them and her, and Genna stood in awe. They had not moved but she knew they would soon, and they would devour her. At last, the black one's head lowered until he was just above her.
"Run, little one," he said in a voice of smoke and fire, that she recognized from some other dream. Genna did not need another warning: she ran. There was a way up, if you climbed the wall... The stones were slick but she could hold them. Her hands were small and fit between the cracks, though she didn't know why the dragons were waiting. The green and the white were crying out in hunger and she heard them calling her back... Her hand slipped, and she scrambled hard to hold on. She was almost there, almost... she couldn't quite reach the edge.
And there was Jaer, his hair blue and his armor scratched, and the cloak of Lannister service thrown on carelessly. Her heart leapt and she yelled his name. "Help! Please, I can't reach!"
Jaer bent over the wall and grasped her wrist easily, a lop-sided smile on his face. "There you are, little one." He started to pull her up and it hurt, but she didn't care. She'd made it... He held her up and her feet were still dangling as she met his eyes that were the same purply-blue of hers. "The things I do for love," he said sadly, as his hands let go of her.
Genna screamed and reached for him again but it was too late. She was falling, and the dragons were waiting. "Ours," they hissed, and the flames encircled her. It was so hot, she kept screaming, kicking as if the flames would fall away but they held her tighter and tighter.
