A Council Meeting Who: Small Council, those involved in Elia’s Investigation When: Five days after Elia’s Death Where: Conference Rom Rating: PG-13 Status: Closed
They’d gathered in the small conference room, those involved in the investigation. Four days had passed and still there had been no significant find for her killer. Further, while the body had been found, why had it gone missing at all? A dead woman did not just walk away, and William could only assume that her killer had also been the person to steal her body. But why leave it to be found only to take it again later, unless he was sending a strong message to the king.
There was no answer that would be pleasant. The discussions with those who had found the body had led to next to nothing. From the inspection of the site, William concluded she hadn’t been killed there. Dumped perhaps, or drifted in from the river, but there had been no signs of an attack at the site she was found.
The clues were too few and far between. He looked around the table at the other men involved, hoping one had found something he’d miss. The more heads working on this mystery, the more likely they’d stumble upon something important. Then again, William wouldn’t put it past anyone in Summerhall to be involved with the slaying as well.
“Your Grace, I believe we’re all here, if we’d like to get started.”
