"No, but a sorrowful man might suffice," replied Toria sweetly.
The dinner might be a good thing for her uncle's nerves. It also might help him in his duties to come. Although the Hand of the King was a role of great importance, it was also a lot of wor and stress. The Hand had to actually be out and attending to things personally, though she thought perhaps some parts of the job would be more appealing to her uncle than King Regent had been.
"Someone who will treat me well enough," she began. "Either someone who will realize I can be an asset to him and his household, or someone too stupid to realize when I've started running it myself."
With a thin golden eyebrow raised, she added, "Unless you already had plans, of course."
