it's been a long trip who: Jaehaerys, OPEN where: Summerhall, a garden when: not long after the arrival of the court rating: PG status: open
Jaehaerys treasured the moment of solitude- or at least the near-solitude, as one of the kingsguard was not far out of reach. They never were, not while the king was in Rhaeys' own palace. Summerhall was a Targaryen fortress, but was held by younger sons. The cold strength of Dragonstone for the eldest and the passing sweetness of Summerhall for the younger. The point was not lost on the king, though he found a part of him wished one of his older siblings had survived. Summerhall was nothing short of breathtaking- even the garden he stood in held marvelous works of sculpture, and a fountain that would not have looked out of place in Lys... He wondered briefly what Harper would think of it, but his attention wandered again as his guard spoke, a reminder of the passing time. Jaehaerys sighed. The court's arrival was seldom uneventful- already there were grudges forming as some nobles were relegated to pavilions and others given rooms that failed to please. Part of the baggage train had been held up by a storm- gods preserve them all if it included Elia's things...
The sounds of approaching footsteps drew Jaehaerys from the reverie. With any luck he could escape to the dragons' pens with Aeny and let William deal with Elia if she was deprived of her gowns.
