Who: Elia Martell, ? When: May 29 Where: a small garden, The Red Keep Rating: PG Status: Open
There were clouds overhead, and it suited Elia's mood just fine. Someone wanted her brother dead and Jaehaerys might have been killed the same week. They had com to tell her that Myrwin was at least awake now, but she had not gone to see him. Aeria was still furious with her and there was no sense fighting by his sickroom. And if he had woken up as... something other than himself... Elia's eyes were downcast. In her hands were letters from Sunspear, still unread. She had spent half the last week halfway down a bottle of raki and laughing desperately at the antics of mummers, fools, acrobats and dancers. The Uller twins' arms had not dispelled the gloom, and even Jaehaerys had been unable to give her any peace.
If this were Sunspear she would have disappeared into the Shadow City and escaped with the Orphans for a few weeks. If this were the Water Gardens she might have set sail with Karlyx for a trip along the coast. But that was gone, something from another life. She would soon be queen, and wed to a king she loved... she didn't understand what was the matter, nor what the remedy might be. So she sat, looking at the letters without opening them, or even seeing them.
