Jaehaerys made a noise of disbelief at Arrys' words. "He won't. He'll rant for months, but he'd do the same if our places were reversed. I'm glad I won't be anywhere near when he gets word of my men's presence- your lord father's tongue could strip the scales from a dragon when he's vexed, or so I do recall. It's not his men or his competence I mistrust though, it's the damn clansmen."
His smile was tired. "Still, I suppose without them, the Vale would be too content and the gods don't like contentment- happy people pray so much less." Jaehaerys took a drink of the wine and raised a brow at Arrys. "But the Vale will keep a few moments. I apologize I have had little enough time to speak with you since you were good enough to come join in our celebrations. How do you like the Red Keep?"
