Elia had the grace to blush as Jaehaerys announced her to the court. She didn't look at the chair Aenyris occupied, which was usually her sister's place- Aeria's absence was a silent rebuke that was nonetheless keenly felt. Instead she joined in the salute to William and occupied herself with speaking to Rhaeys and Genna. That Jaehaerys was fond of William's daughter was amusing- though she wondered how long it would keep Jaehaerys from finding a pretext for Lord William's head to decorate the walls.
Then again, if this fight with his mother continued, they might need the Starks... she looked at Rhaeys and smiled. Her sister's good-brother was downing more wine than she'd seen him take in a long time. And with good reason, she thought. Elia gestured for a page to refill her own goblet. A tangled web, she thought, as she looked around the High Table. But where was the spider?
