Hello from New Asgard. Things are--boring isn't quite right but maybe static is the right word? Thor is still wallowing in guilt though there are plans to get him to stop hiding. The weather has been grey and in a sour mood.

I am spending my time training the guards and teaching the children, and working with Val--Loki's wife, who is in charge of everything--to make sure we're going to have all the resources we need. I had hoped New Asgard would be a safe place for long enough to plan for a firm future, but I worry that Loki's actions, and now Thor's, have made that impossible. I don't think the things Loki has done should pass without comment or excuse or punishment, but what I said before was true: I think he was making progress and I worry that he's been set back. And apart from how I feel, or how Thor and Val feel, he's dangerous. Possibly too dangerous to left to slide.

Jane is talking about trying to go to the synagogue, the temple of her religion, in Oslo. I'm trying to figure out what I can do without causing trouble or breaking our own laws to find money for her to get to Oslo, and for me to go with her for her own safety. For a long time Jane didn't think much of me planning for her security but now she sees the necessity.

I've been following the international news and what's on the network but it's not the same as being there. I hope all is well with you and that we'll talk soon.

Hello from NYC, where we've been cleaning up and it actually looks pretty good now? You almost wouldn't even know that there was a storm in the first place. Though of course the feds are still angry - and Loki's still in prison. I don't think whatever he did deserved a super long sentence like this, though I admit I don't know him as well as you do. If he was teamed up with the Spider-kid, the Spider-kid's good people. They probably meant well and did something stupid, and it escalated quickly. As these things do.

As for Jane, I saw her post. I guess would I would suggest, to earn some quick cash, would be to sell some things - there are local groups you can join, online or otherwise, that will pay cash for clothes and furniture. If you choose to do anything online there are ways to..mask your identity, I guess? Not that it matters too much. If you're selling something to, say, a collector - they probably won't care either way as long as they can arrange a meeting place for an exchange.

You gotta do what you gotta do. I hope Jane can get to Oslo and I hope this calms down a little soon too. Look forward to seeing you soon! We'll make it happen.

I have been thinking since you wrote of what I have that I could sell. Some things are from off world and it would be forbidden to sell those. If I read the prices correctly on the Norwegian rail site, I think it will cost close to 200 of your dollars to buy two round-trip tickets to Oslo. There are other things I could sell, perhaps some armor, but I'm not sure I could get a good price for them here. Maybe a collector would purchase them.

I'm glad the storm damage has been repaired. I know Val is worried about reparations to those whose homes and businesses were damaged. Again, we have things that are worth that much, but much of it is forbidden to take outside of New Asgard or to give to any country. And under the circumstances, I can't see her offering any of it as tribute to the same country that employs General Ross. (Saying he serves, though technically correct, doesn't seem right.)

There's no way you can do it, of course, and if you could I'd tell you not to, but I wish you could come to Oslo. I'm interested in the customs of Midgard but I'm not sure my lessons in Midgardian religion can stand a whole day of temple. On the other hand I wouldn't want to chance something bad happening to the synagogue because I wasn't paying attention.

Once I get to Oslo, is there anything you'd like as a souvenir? I'm told the thing to do is send a postcard.

Trust me, any collector would want jump at the chance to buy some armor. I bet you'd get at least enough to pay to get to Oslo and back, probably more.

Actually, I bet I could get to Oslo - or another nearby city, and just hop on a train and meet you. It's really easy to travel around Europe that way, and even if my bank accounts are being monitored, it wouldn't look suspicious to be traveling overseas. I do it all the time. So don't bother to tell me not to. ;)

If not, then definitely send me a postcard as a backup plan. I love those.

I've talked to Jane about the plans and we're going to go down on Friday during the day so we can make the evening service. The holy day starts at sundown Friday and then there'll be another service in the morning. We're staying through until Sunday morning so we don't travel on the holy day.

I'm talking to a collector in Oslo about pricing a piece of my armor. Not full suit but one of the smaller items. So we may be able to do this sooner rather than later.
