I've heard from Thor about a decidedly odd matter. I'll be visiting him for a few days.

I'd like you to watch over the village in the meantime. The dungeon is complete and at your disposal should you need it for any reason.

The Valkyrie is away on the long task of gathering winter provisions for the entire village.

	I am at your disposal, of course, and shall remain in New Asgard until either you or Val or Thor himself have returned. I will let the Avengers know that my obligations to New Asgard take precedence for the moment. Is there aught I should do in the meantime? I doubt I'll need to use the dungeon. Ah, yes. Tasks to see to.

I've sent doubles of myself to notify the council members. They know to consult you should there be any issues. We shall hold council again in a fortnight.

Mind the weather forecasts for the fishing fleet. The Valkyrie was seeing to that and I was minding it for her whilst she was away.

If wind and water grow too foul, tis best not to set out at all. Foul weather really isn't expected until next month's end.

If the Valkyrie has had any supplies ordered and shipped, then it will need be put into the storehouses and cataloged. But that's also not expected.

Of course, continue training during the three hours of sunlight that nature has granted us. Continue with the guards making rounds to politely turn away outside interlopers using the cover of nightfall for any ill purposes.

I feel as though I'm forgetting something.

	When you say 'a few days' and imply you'll be back before the council meeting in a fortnight--is this the kind of odd thing that results in you ending up traveling through space and time to the far end of the universe, or just the usual sort of trouble? No, I'll be in New York with Thor for only a few days. I'll return well before the council meeting.

I was only letting you know when the next meeting was set, since it was mentioned in conversation.

You do deserve to know the reason for the hasty departure. Apparently, there is a spirit moving Thor's furnishings about. I'm curious enough to want to see it for myself.

Ah, yes, then I wouldn't expect it to take more than a day or two to resolve and will plan matters here accordingly. In the very unlikely event that there's a significant problem, I'll let you know.

Meanwhile I hope you can spend a few days enjoying the food and culture of the city. I have been introduced to pizza and hot dogs, which I am not sure are quite healthy but are definitely tasty.

	All will be well. I know you are ever vigilant. That's the only reason that I feel so assured in leaving for a few days time. I'm not overly fond of pizza, but the unfortunately named hot dogs are rather good. Is there more that I should be seeing whilst visiting? I am told there are many temples of culture in New York. Both for bardic recitals and for the viewing of Midgardian arts. And one dedicated to Midgardian sciences as they were practiced the past, which would either be great fun or terrible, depending on your point of view.

Also I am told there is a food called CANNOLI in the part of the city known as Little Italy which is delicious.

Midgardian sciences are rudimentary at best, still in their infancy. I might visit as a form of amusement.

This realm is rather varied in their arts and music, however. Seeking out these temples of culture might be in order. Have you any names of these places, for me to seek out? Or is any venue acceptable?

Cannoli. I've not tried this as of yet, but I shall seek out this Little Italy upon your recommendation. I am fond of pasta dishes.

Yes, this was my thought as well. It's not kind to laugh but it would be useful to show the children. The older ones, so they can understand the limits of Midgard.

The Garden of Madison Square is said to hold musical engagements. Also a factory of knitting and the hall of someone called Webster.

I think the CANNOLI is a sweet. But I am sure there is pasta in Little Italy as well.
