Tony & Pepper
Tony Stark liked big entrances. If there was copious amounts of grandstanding and bravado involved, and a beautiful woman on his arm (i.e. Pepper), then he was in his element. What he hadn't done in a good long while was go to parties. They were what Tony thought of as fashionably late, although there had been a lot of bickering back and forth in the car about directions and the like. The usual exasperated but fond banter the trio had with one another. What he wasn't fond of was knocking on doors, so he was now expectantly staring at the side of Happy's head.
"Yeah. You need to get on that door."
"I'm on the door," Happy said, unhappily. "I've got the door. I'm knocking."
"You didn't knock yet. That's the prob," Tony countered while pointing at Happy's clenched fist, knuckles hovering about two inches away from woodwork. "What is this? Why is this? Just knock. Knock on it. Knock. Knock knock knockknockknock...."
"Wait! What if there's explosives on the other side and it's rigged to blow."
"Then you do what you did that one time and you jump on me. And I'll jump on Pep. Everyone's jumped on." Tony tilted his head back to stare up at the ceiling, looking like he was nearing his wits end. "Knock. I'm not touching that. Other people have touched it. Knock or turn the handle. I swear, this is because you took the long way around. "
"Don't you blame that on me. It was a safer route."
"I told you to take that right and you hit every stoplight." Tony stopped talking to the ceiling and grasped Happy by the elbow and bonked his body guard's fist against the door. "Ok. Done. Good job. We lived! You're welcome."
Happy rolled his eyes as he walked off, grumbling. The only decipherable phrase was, "I'm waiting in the car."
"Yeah, you do that. You go wait, read a road map, and sing those one hit wonders as poorly as possible." Before Happy could get out of earshot, Tony tried to get the last word in, edgewise. "Hey. Hey! You're monotone! Put a finger in one ear and listen to yourself!"
Happy gave him the middle finger instead.
Mission to keep Happy happy accomplished. Tony grinned cheekily at Pepper and waited for the door to open. It would be a big entrance for the future Mr. and Mrs. Stark. Time to shine.
