Who: Pietro Maximoff & Stephen Strange
What: Coming back from dead is hard work
When: 3rd March
Rating/Warnings: TBD

The last thing Pietro remembered was racing headfirst into danger as he processed the events long before they happened, being able to see the ultimate fate of the one called Clint Barton. Riddled with bullets, another family left bereft, children with no father and a wife with no-one to call husband. He wasn't a hero, far from it, but he was a decent person. So much so that he took the bullets, felt them riddle his entire body, and the sudden chill that had accompanied his swift death.

Of course not even death was enough to stop him for letting out one last sarcastic quip but after that the world had gone black and Pietro had only known the embrace of darkness. His last thought was of his sister, Wanda.

And the next thing he knew he was falling.

His eyes snapped open, the blue depths wide with panic and fear, his breath sharp and deep as if it were the first one he'd ever taken. His body twisted and then landed on the ground, knees bent and hands pressed in the dirt and it was through a shock of white hair that he lifted his gaze to assess his surroundings.

This was not Sokovia, far from it, he sagged back onto his heels and turned his attention to the clothes were he could still see the telltale signs of blood. The holes might be small but they were many, too many, Pietro's hand trembled as it lifted to press at all the marks that littered his body and he swallowed hard as he tried to comprehend what had happened.

"Where is this?" He questioned to the empty air around him.

Surprisingly enough the announcement of magic was taken onboard with a lift o an eyebrow and acknowledging move of his head. He was not unfamiliar with magic after all.

"Where is my sister?" He didn't even bother to comment on everything else that the Dr had explained as it didn't really matter, not when Pietro had the pressing matter of finding his sister to attend to.

He glanced to the right as he heard a siren. "Where is this?"

This went better than it did with most people. Stephen heaved a sigh of relief he didn't even realize that he was holding in.

"You're in New York," Stephen replied. "Your sister is safe. She arrived here shortly before you did."

He very slightly shook the package toward Pietro as a hint to take it. The last thing he wanted was someone with this much buzzing energy took off, without it. The other man's aura was like tiny bursts of lightning, unable to stay still. It was a wonder that he was standing in one place.

"There are others like you and me. We have a network you can connect to. This will help you access it."

Small miracles did in fact happen, it was by no means a small event that Pietro had not sped away during Stephen's approach, but contrary to popular belief Pietro could exert refrain and consideration before acting. Not every often but still he could if he wanted.

He was relieved to know that Wanda was safe and present here in New York city especially as he hadn't voluntarily left her side. The last he had known was she was on Sokovia and trying to stop Ultron from killing everyone.

The hint was by no means subtle and Pietro merely arched an eyebrow as he reached out to take a hold of the package. "Like Big brother?"

"...the television show or the Orwellian nightmare?" Stephen asked, as Pietro took the items from him. "Neither. Although there is an Accord that is discouraging superheroes using their powers without approval. That was fall out from what happened with Sokovia, and an accident involving your sister's powers."

Those were words of warning, even if he doubted they would have an easy time catching this one.

"She's all right. Other people...weren't." He thought that Pietro should know, because he would no doubt want to see his sister. And there might be changes in Wanda, from what was remembered before. "Stark mentioned it to me before. In case she showed up. We weren't expecting you, at the time. I wrote down what room she's staying in, at the hotel. It's in the envelope."

Stephen thought this could be a very good thing for Wanda.

Pietro's attention merely latched onto the "accident involving your sister's power" and concern immediately flared. Even without context or explanation Pietro was certain and confident that Wanda was not to blame, she was careful and particular, not the type to let her power run riot and cause accidents.

"Stark," he echoed with a slight twist in his lips, a sneer at best. "His words are like promises made by liars, empty and void of truth." He may have helped the Avengers with Ultron but it didn't mean he had forgiven the man whose weapons had taken almost everything from him. "If my sister used her power it is because she was only doing what she was told."

He was restless, that much was evident, he'd even taking to quick pacing in a blur in front of Stephen. It was when he stopped that the envelope was open and Pietro looked at the address and room number. "Hard to expect a dead man," he replied with a smirk.

"I'd think so. But you should know, she wasn't with Stark when that happened." Stephen squinted a little bit and smirked back in response, giving Pietro a nod to confirm that it was hard to expect the dead. "She was with other Avengers, before the Avengers were no more. Stark has his own demons to deal with. We all do, in our own ways."

While he was no fan of Stark, he also knew it wasn't his place to condemn anyone. He wasn't about to lay into Stark despite his opinion, or place blame any of the other Avengers who were on the scene. When this started, Stark briefly filled him in on why the Accords came to be and Wanda's part in it, but any of the finer details were best left to people who were there, or to Wanda herself.

"I'd offer you a way to the hotel, but it looks like you might want to...jog it off."

Stephen motioned with a pointed finger to what looked like an outline around Pietro's body.

"Changes nothing," Pietro replied with a shrug of his shoulders.

Stephen was right, Pietro wanted to run, he had a lot of energy and it was natural for him to keep moving as he didn't know how to stay still. "You are right about that, Dr Strange."

He smirked and raised two fingers to his temple. "See you soon."

And then it was in effect a flash the space previously claimed by one Pietro Maximoff was left empty though the speed of which he ran off had left not only Stephen's coat flapping in the wind but had also caused a considerable disruption in the alley.

"...everything changes," was Stephen's all too knowing reply as he watched Pietro leave.

As his cloak righted itself, he was certain that Pietro was going to find that out, all too soon.
