Darcy was excited about tonight. She was pretty well settled into her new place and liked living so close to Tony, Pepper, and Morgan, even if it was a little awkward that Pepper didn't know everything. It had been nearly ten months since she found out that she was actually a Stark and Darcy finally seemed to be adjusting to that knowledge, at least in terms of being comfortable using her newfound wealth to have a little fun.

Her place was decked out with lots of pillows and blankets, there were plenty of drinks, both alcoholic and non, along with pretty much any sort of snack anyone might want. She was happy to greet all of her guests as they arrived and hoped that folks would mingle and chat with each other. It was a great opportunity for all of them to get to know each other better.

As she warned Darcy, Jane came directly from temple. She wasn't entirely sure whatever trouble Darcy had planned was a good fit for Shabbat during the period between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. But friendship mattered and there were always exceptions.

Jane stopped for coffee on her way to Darcy's. She was a little jet lagged from the transition between Norway and New York time. Even though she could step through a portal in an instant, it didn't stop time zones from existing. She walked into Darcy's clutching a coffee cup.

"Hi!"

Carol was all too happy to be out and about and hanging out with her fellow ladies. She arrived a little later than usual, making sure that she had everything to hang out and have a good time. She wasn't sure what all was needed, so she just stopped at the liquor store and brought a bunch of different stuff.

Once she'd set everything down, she turned to see Jane there. She didn't know Jane very well, but she was hoping that she would get to know some more people. She waved. "Hey. Need help with anything?"

Illyana knew that Darcy had mentioned there would be food at this gathering, but she decided to bring something anyway. Friday had been very helpful and between the two of them, they had chosen danishes. While she was waiting for them to be delivered - wasn't this place amazing? - Illyana had a shower, changed the dressing on her upper left arm, which was healing well, and pulled on clothing Christine had provided when she first arrived. She hadn't felt like shopping nor did she want to be in further debt to the people who rescued her.

So, wearing a plain blue t-shirt, some black leggings, socks with a rainbow of polka dots on them and her long, blonde hair loose and still damp from the shower, Illyana Rasputina willingly arrived in the entry of a strangers apartment, shoe-less but carrying a box of assorted danishes.

Rogue was still unsure but she was here, wearing normal clothes that covered neck to wrist. She bound her hair up into a knot and looking a little askew.

She sighed softly, this was good for gathering information but oh man, this was going to be rough.

She spotted illyana and made her way over, "You look as awkward as ah feel." Then she thought better of herself and smiled. "Ah might have someone who speaks Russian in here, would that help make you feel relaxed?" She offered, tapping her head.

One of the other Genoshan escapees, a girl who had been injured while doing so, approached. They had communicated a little on the Network, something Illyana was gradually getting used to, computers as well. Shed been away a long time, and yet no time at all, but at the farm in Siberia, she hadn't explored modern technology yet. Not at seven', and then her future had been determined by someone other than her family.

"It is good to meet in person," she said with a shy smile. She didn't want anyone to know about her dark magic and being a sorceress, not yet, so she would continue to appear as normal as possible. It wasn't too difficult. Other than being raised by a being of pure evil, she was a normal girl.

Right? Aside from the teleportation thing...

"No, is okay. Do not want to bring you... bad memories. I need English practice, too." She looked around. "And somewhere to put box."

Rogue offered her a warmer smile. "It is nice, ah am glad you look well and seem to be adjusting okay?" it was not quite a question, but it was kind of one, too. She thought she looked okay but she wasn't fully sure.

"It wouldn't - if you need me to, please, just let me know." she offered, "Ah know how hard it is to be out of place. If it'll help, ah'm happy to help." she nodded then looked around and pointed at a table with food. "Maybe put the box there?" she suggested.

	The girl smiled and offered to help translate for her if Illyana wanted her to. That was nice of her. As a former prisoner of that nightmare place, it was good to have connections with others who had experienced the same thing. Or close enough to the same thing. Probably. 	Rogue had trouble making connections but she was trying. She plucked one of the danishes out of the box, grinning. "As much as ah have trouble with people, this was probably a good idea, don't you think?" She looked around, it was good to get an idea of who was around, and who might be good to know. Illyana nodded and decided to have a danish, too. She chose one with lemon in the centre and it was sweet and tarte and perfect.

After she swallowed her first.bite, she said, "It is good to get to know people and talk without the typing." She wasn't very good at typing - or speaking English, but whatever - so typing in English was a source of double the frustration.

Friday was there to help, of course. Always there, as far as she knew, which made attempting some scrying or 'porting out to see how Limbo was doing impossible tasks. Once she was stronger, she would go for a walk or something, find a secluded spot and try then.

Illyana there was nothing 'normal' about Illyana's life and it was something she would likely experience on very rare occasions.

"Thank you," she said to Rogue's offer to help. It was nice to make connections, even if she didn't know how long she'd be staying. She took another bite of her lemon danish and swallowed before asking, "So, how often did you see our tormentor?"

	After she and Loki argued over who would come, they both agreed to show up. They needed the time to relax, even if for a few hours. That said, Val had never had a 'sleep over' before, so she really didn't know what to expect. It was Darcy though, it wouldn't be boring, that was for sure. Gamora still didn't understand the Terran ritual of a slumber party, but Darcy was her friend, and that meant she showed up for her, even when she didn't get it.

Which is why she waited until they were almost home from their trip to visit the Nova Corps doctors before reminding Peter that this was in fact tonight. She was actually shocked that he had not yet started blowing up her phone.

"Do you know what we're supposed to be doing?" She asked, joining Valkyrie. "This feels like it's a cover for a all-female underground fight club. That's a Terran ritual I could probably get behind."

She brushed her hair out of her eyes, "I think it is an excuse to eat, drink and gossip?" She suggested looking around..that was the best she could come up with. She knew Loki would likely know more than she.

Or at least enjoy this more.

"I am gossip-less I'm afraid. Though I guess I have some it's just not relevant to anyone not working the docks or the fields in New Asgard." she laughed shaking her head.

"Turns out there's a lot of paperwork helping run a town." she smirked a bit, she had had no idea. Also, trying to juggle thor and loki AND a town was always an adventure. She loved them both but sometimes? she was forcibly reminded that they were siblings.

“It sounds like Thor may have had the right idea when he pawned all the administration off on you to go adventuring.” Gamora figured it was just like a man to leave all the real work to a woman and take his thunder god glory. “Is it strange now that he’s around full-time?”

“We jumped to Xander today, and it honestly took everything to not turn on the scanner to see if we could pick up a job. I need something to fight. I don’t know how anyone here is managing to sit still, to be honest.” She glanced at her phone again... another reminder that is had been six days popped in her screen.

“Oh, it’s not that Peter wants to be here. He was hoping an invitation to a one-on-one slumber party would keep me from coming.”

Valkyrie smirked a bit, she got things done, she wasn't sure if that would be true or not otherwise, but she was sure she put in a lot of hours. "Not really? Everyone pulls their weight, I can be scary if they don't." Even if she hadn't pushed anyone to do more than her. Loki had the most important job, in her eyes, but she wasn't about to talk about it.

"I can understand that. I miss picking a good fight." Genosha had been far too focused to be a hard fight.

"Ahhhh I get it."

Her phone buzzed again, and when Gamora pulled it out to check the message, she tilted the phone so Valkyrie could see. "So, I'm not spending the night here..." She said, trailing off as she looked at the picture again.

"And this is not the way either of us girl-bond." She shoved her phone back in her pocket. "We did our duty to our friend Darcy by showing up. What do you say we go find some street criminals to beat up, then we can each go home, have sex with our husbands, and sleep in our own beds?"

Val looked at the message, and then laughed, "No, I wouldn't imagine you would after that." though trying to picture Loki sending images like that almost had her cackling. But it was a funny, funny thought.

"No, this is true." she smirked, "Okay, I like your plan." she did, too, it was more her speed anyway. She liked Darcy, but Loki would have more fun here, she'd steal him back later.
