The silence in the cockpit became stifling, to the point that Daisy couldn’t stand it anymore. She shoved up out of the chair, ignoring the looks from the others as she headed towards the back of the ship. Leaving May and Coulson behind had been one of the hardest things that she had ever done. He had found her, been through so much with her in such a short time, and had had her back even when she hadn’t trusted herself. He’d given up his one chance at survival so that she could save the world. It didn’t matter how long she would have been given to say goodbye, no amount of words would have been enough for her to explain how much Coulson had meant to her.
As she passed by the command area, Daisy paused and sighed, then headed towards the cargo bay. She didn’t want to see or talk about the hunt for Fitz right now. The Fitz that had ripped the device out of her, that had caused the events leading to Ruby’s death, was dead. They had never gotten a chance to work though what had happened, to repair their friendship. And the Fitz they were going to be looking for, wasn’t the one who had done that, which meant she couldn’t hold it against him.
Daisy was trying to deal with those loses, while wrapping her head around the Fitz and Deke situation when everything was turned upside down. At least for her. It felt like everything shoving in on her at once while at the same time it was trying to pull her apart. It took a few seconds for the vibrations to settle, for the pain to subside, before she realized where she was. Or rather, where she wasn’t.
She reached for her ear comm, taping and calling for her team. “Mack? Jemma? Are you there?” she asked, staring up at the Statue of Liberty. She didn’t get an answer, not that she suspected she would. Wished it, but didn’t think it would happen. The vibrations of this world, were just a little bit off, slightly out of tune of what she was used to. She turned and stared back at New York, confused and worried.
“What the hell did we change now?”
