Hey all! I just wanted to drop a quick explanation for the log I posted. On Wednesday, Vic was all over the news for a while because he saved a toddler during a supervillain attack, but the boy's mother died. They kept showing footage of him holding the little guy. He came home really late - with the toddler. Most people probably wouldn't know that last part just yet, but they probably saw or heard about the news story since it got so much attention because the kid was cute and sad. :D

Hi hi!

It's Bear here with my 9th character, Amani Munroe. She's the daughter of Storm and Black Panther, former princess, current Wakandan ambassador.

Her parents shared custody of her, raising her in both Wakanda and the States, so she probably knows most of the other X-kids - especially those whose parents were close to Storm and/or worked at the Jean Grey School. Storm was also an Avenger, so she'd know those kids fairly well, in addition to all the science peeps. She also went to school at NAA with Owen and Marvel and she went to college in New York, so she's been around off and on for most of her life. For the last ten years or so she's been more scarce, serving all around the world for her nation's interests.

Amani makes a special effort to promote mutant and metahumans from her public position, and she's been instrumental in spreading Wakandan tech, so she's continued to foster good relationships with the major science dynasties (Stark, Richards, Worthington, etc.). She's friendly and charming on a personal level, though her public persona is a lot more reserved and judicious. She's more reserved and poised than a lot of people might remember if they haven't seen her for a while, but she'll warm up as she gets to relax in her new digs. She's rented a home in New Avalon and is looking forward to rekindling old friendships and making new ones!

Bear here with my 8th character, Charlie Grey aka Phoenix!

He's the son of Cyclops and Marvel Girl, so everybody knows him. They'd know him even if nothing eventful ever happened in his life just because of his parents, but... his parents are Cyclops and Marvel Girl, so of course something eventful happened, starting with his mom coming back from the dead, nine months pregnant, YEARS after the last time anybody had ever seen her alive. A lot of people were not happy to see the Phoenix back in town, which led to the Jean Grey School getting blown the hell up on Charlie's first birthday. Happy birthday, kid!

Jean made a deal where she'd leave Earth "for good," but leave Charlie in the care of the X-Men. Scott got to keep custody, sort of - he'd stay in Charlie's life, but several X-Men families agreed to take turns fostering the kid so that he wouldn't grow up with any one ideology or outlook on life. Except there was one thing that was constant between them all: the Phoenix force is dangerous. So grow up with everyone always telling you that you might end the world one day if you're not careful, only talk to your mom telepathically on your birthdays, and you might understand where Charlie's coming from.

He's 32 now and he's been the librarian at NAA for a long time. He's desperate to be liked, but he tends to have only superficial interactions with people. He's a very kind and sweet guy, but he's wickedly insecure, so small talk is just easier. There are only a few people who wouldn't at least know of him, and he's probably on a friendly basis with most of the community, but he's convinced that everyone's waiting for him to mess up and prove them right about him being the next big disaster.

So whatcha got for me? :D Friends, exes, outright enemies (those who think he's a danger)?

Hiya and Happy New Year!

Bear here! So, you might have noticed I dropped Mike Muse. He just wasn't working out. D:

But hot on his heels is my new character, Eric Jeffries! Eric is a charming young genius specializing in advanced non-lethal weaponry and defense technology. He was an MIT superstar before moving to Silicon Valley and making a bundle when Google bought out his company. He grew up in New Avalon and visited frequently while he was in school, and he's been back in the neighborhood for the past two years, so he's someone most people would at least know of, even if they're not close. He's also been a fairly public figure, thanks to his hero career, his former relationship with an Avenger (Aleks Rasputin - which ended in a very public marriage proposal and an equally public rejection), and his success as an inventor. He was a West Coast Avenger from 2011-2013 and he's been a Sentry since moving back.

He likely has tons of friends floating around the community! And exes, he has plenty of those too. He's also likely close to most of the pre-District X Avengers since he dated one of them for so long. Come for the plotting, stay for the fun! Check out his profile for more details. :D :D :D

hey everyone

as most of you know, i'm a teacher, and in about an hour i'm going to pick up about ~80 10-12 page term papers that need to be graded by tuesday, so i'll probably be absent until that gets done. i fear for my sanity. and if i happen to show up before i'm done, pretend i didn't say any of this, because if anyone asks me how the grading's going, i'll probably snap and blow up the kwik-e-mart :D

2) Okay, totally stealing this from Jo! I put up a bunch of possible ideas for threads (net or log, either or) with everyone (except Jo because.. we already worked that out on her post. :D ) Let me know if you'd like to get some of these going! (Some characters I don't have as many connections with yet, so it was harder to think of possible starters, but if you wanna suggest a pairing I didn't think of, I'm all ears!)

Dean update!

Hi all, just wanted to make sure people knew what's what in case they haven't read the different logs/threads where all this info is being revealed. Dean and Gale vanished on Sunday. Caylie was able to look into the past to see what happened: Gale knew he was about to time jump, was trying to say goodbye, and Dean told him he wouldn't have to be alone before grabbing hold. Then they both vanished. No one knows if they'll ever see either of them again, so their friends are hopefully probably pretty sad right now. D: But they'll be back later this week!

Hi everyone!

At long last, I have caved to peer pressure and created my seventh character. Meet Ash Worthington!

So, bear with me here. Ash believes he's an actual heavenly angel. He was stolen as a newborn by a (somewhat/) benevolent cult and raised on their compound in upstate NY. He knows nothing about his birth parents or, really, the rest of the world past 1985. He's about to get sprung from the only life he's ever known, and he will be moving into NA as the most lost little puppy ever. His parents are both dead and he's a freaking billionaire.

CARLA! Does Dave want to be responsible for being this kid's lawyer? Huge trust to manage, lots of other lawyerly things to take care of.

And aside from that, he needs absolutely everything. He's brand spanking new to the world and is scared shitless - but also weirdly optimistic, because he's an angel, and nothing that bad is going to happen to him. This is all just a test.

I'd wager most people don't know his dad since he's pretty new - he's a healer with Cyclops' new mutant group. Mike can heal, too, but when he does, it turns him to diamond, cause his mom is a Stepford Cuckoo! He drinks a lot, gets on people's bad side pretty easily, but is a good guy deep down. Deep, deep down. Way down. At the bottom of a well. Under a rock. In a cave.

Okay, not that far down, but it'll be rough if you're not one of his besties.

Speaking of! He's close to Cal, Owen, Milo, and Marvel, cause he went to school with them, and was on the Avengers before District X, up through the end of the Justice II thing. If your char was around for any of that, let's talk! And if not, they can get to know each other now. :3

hot on kait's heels, it's bear rounding the corner with his fifth (and final?) character, alex mccoy!

alex is the 16 yr old son of hank mccoy and abigail brand. he's enormous, blue, furry, and the biggest teddy bear. he also occasionally turns into an on-fire murderbeast, but that hasn't happened in a while. he's a super smartypants like his dad, but he doesn't flaunt it. all his teachers (should) know to keep any praise/encouragement on the downlow, otherwise he gets uncomfortable and does stupid stuff like not turn in the work he's already completed.

he also has OCD, but it's mostly under control. if you've been around for a few years, he probably got way too close and licked you at some point, but he really didn't want to do it. he's also pansexual, so bring on the queer role models!

you can usually find alex in the company of his besties, Bex and Beau. he's very social, but also impressionable, so the little hooligans get him into way more mischief than he'd get into on his own.

She's the daughter of Dazzler and Longshot. She's lots of fun, promise! Eve works as a stuntwoman for TV shows and movies - you've probably seen the back of her head a thousand times. She's also a SHIELD operative, so that's fun (she's the info-gathering kind, not the murder murder mayhem kind). She also really wants to sleep with meet Olivia Wilde, so if anyone can hook her up, do it.

Since Eve only went to the Academy for a year, and hasn't lived in NA for most of her life, I'm hoping to find most of her lines in-game. But if you might have a connection to either of her careers (e.g., she worked on Other People's Heroes with Mark, and she's been in SHIELD for over a decade) let me know! She needs friends and whatnot like woah.

Hi everyone! Bear here with my third character, Dean Green aka Squirrel Boy!

He's the son of Squirrel Girl (naturally) and Wolverine (I was surprised to find out it was canon, too. Logan, you dog, you.)! He's a courier who makes deliveries around New York in a squirrel-a-gig and he's very excited to play with everyone!

He also comes with a plot! Given his penchant for mischief, and his army of squirrelly minions, Dean has decided to stage a scavenger hunt! If you would like to participate, your character will receive a list of items to find. And every list has one special item on it, stolen from your character! This can be as tiny as lip gloss, as important as your house keys, or anything in between. He wouldn't have taken anything valuable or sentimental or like that - annoyance is expected, but murderous rage and calling the Sentries is not. He uses his fluffy powers for good!

Let me know if you'd like to scavenge for your things, and a little fuzzy pickpocket will be by when you least expect it. :D He also needs friends and the like (and Instagram followers, he says), so hit me up for plotty goodness!

Hi again! Bear here with my second puppet: Caylie Gwynn, daughter of Pixie and Velocidad.

She's a temporal anomaly and she's going to find out all your secrets! Not really. Sort of. Yes. She's a PI with X-Factor and she's pretty good at what she does. Just don't threaten to punch her - she'll flail and probably cry and then kick you in places you didn't know were kickable. She's the spastic, friendtastic, bombastic pint-sized fairy queen detective and she.. made brownies. Lots and lots of brownies.

Hi everyone! I'm Bear, and I'll be piloting Vic Altman here. He's the younger child of Wiccan and Hulkling and livingforever's little brother.

Vic's a nice guy, recently getting over some major inferiority issues with his older sibling. A little hesitant at first, but lonely and eager to connect with people. He's just started teaching Contemp Lit at the Academy. He's also a member of the Sentries, and also the Defenders (woot woot!), but that's not common knowledge (though also not a strict secret). He has a dog. You want to pet his dog.
