As a friendly reminder, Activity Check is going up on Sunday, August 31st! Current activity rules are as follows:
» 1 log and 2 other pieces of activity (network posts, text or email conversations, or more logs). Logs, net conversations, texts and emails must have at least 5 comments per character in an individual conversation to count toward activity. The original post counts as a "comment". You can only make one count of activity per post.
OR
» 5 network conversations, texts or emails, all meeting the 5 comment per character minimum.
Narratives and gifts that don't result in conversations in the post don't count. The activity requirements are specifically to foster interaction between characters. We certainly want you to write narratives for the fun of it, but they don't count as official activity.
If the need comes up, being on hiatus will get you out of activity check for one consecutive month. If you know you're going to be too busy to play for longer than that, then we need to reconsider whether New Avalon is the right game for you.
Characters apped on or after the 20th will only be required to have 2 net conversations, and on or after the 27th they're exempt completely.
The check will go from the 31st to midnight, September 7th. You'll have the opportunity to process drops during the check, and anyone who fails to check in will be removed. Players removed for not checking in will be able to re-app with one character.
We've cut a little too much slack on activity checks in the past, so unfortunately for this month, we won't do the same. Any characters who fail activity will be removed, and will be available to re-app once a player's current roster has all passed activity. We don't want to take things away, we just want to make sure the characters who are in the game are being played reliably.

It's Joooo with her #8. This is Mercy Summers, kiddo of Hope Summers and Gabriel Cohuelo, which makes her Caylie's little sister. :D Hope disappeared when she was a few months old, and Gabriel sucks at all things parentage, so he gave her up for adoption and ran in the other direction. Mercy's been a foster care kid since forever, and her most recent foster home is with Chloe Collins warlikewitch, who obviously didn't take the kid in out of the goodness of her heart.
Mercy has two main powers: empathic power boosting, and limited chronokinesis. Within a close-ish range, Mercy boosts any superhuman power. If she's high stress, scared or angry, she makes other people more powerful and takes away their control. Calm or neutral, her presence actually helps instead, and gives extra control as well as a boost. Mercy is incapable of turning this power off, and it's only been recently that she knows it even exists.
Her second power lets her "pause" objects or people within a range. Think Piper from Charmed, without the explosions.
Her foster mom lives nearby and is in the process of manipulating the crap out of her. Chloe actively encourages Mercy not to get along with or get attached to people at the Academy, so expect Mercy to be That Kid when she starts out. She certainly doesn't think she wants friends or other adults to connect to, but she needs them, especially given that her new mom is secretly a supervillain.

My deepest apologies for not getting to this sooner, but I'm afraid I'm not going to be as available from today, Aug. 27th to about Sunday, Aug. 31st. I'm going to hop on the activity check ASAP once real life has slowed down, but I'm sort of half here until then. I know I have a two scenes with Kait that are almost done, the McCoy sibling luncheon for Jessi and Alex, there's a Pella scene for Jo that I think just got started? And is Isaac still in his interview?
If there's anything missing, please leave a comment below and I'll pop it right on the to-do list. Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope to get back in the swing of things shortly.
