plot with me! #1 [11 Aug 2014|05:08am] So! With the people we've got now, Kait and I were discussing finally doing a Plot With Me post. This is going to mean two things: character-centric plot ideas, and gamewide plot ideas. Basically, we want to give everyone a chance to get their personal arcs in, and also a chance to really contribute to the game as a whole. We have people with really interesting careers and backstories and arch enemies, and we would rather give figures from your characters' lives the spotlight as important NPCs or baddies than make up people who are unconnected. We also want our players to really have a hand in deciding what plots happen or don't, because we'd rather be following your suggestions than throwing out stuff that just doesn't excite you. So we've got two little templates here (one for player ideas, and one for characters), and it would mean a lot to us if everyone responded to this post so we're all included. :D CHARACTER TEMPLATE <b>Name:</b> <b>Age:</b> <b>Occupation:</b> <b>Parents & Other Family:</b> (Includes extended family and "just like family" characters.) <a href="LINKGOESHERE">To The Profile</a> <b>Lines & Plots You'd Like This Character To Have:</b> Go wild. This can be lines potentially filled by in-game people or double as a wanted ad. (Spoiler alert: if someone has a really badass character idea in their wanted lines, the mods may actually raise the limit so they can fill it for you.) This is also where you tell us about personal plots you guys would like to get up to (like Dean and Billy's Excellent Monkey God Adventure). For the most part we're just nosy, but we'd also like to give you the chance to air out your ideas and get more of the game involved, especially if your character's personal plot is related to something like SHIELD. We want to give your characters a chance to shine where everyone can see them by putting them in pivotal roles in gamewide plots. <b>Significant NPCs:</b> This space is for you to share with us important people in your characters' backstories, <i>especially</i> villains or arch enemies you want to see in this game. This is also where you tell us about particularly impactful exes, NPCs your character regularly interacts with (ex. Mark Reilly's agent, Steven Barnes' psychiatrist, etc.), and general flavor text people. We're actively on the lookout for interesting NPCs (again, especially bad guys) that we can hit you guys up to actually play in future plots. <b>Anything else?</b> PLAYER TEMPLATE <b>Gamewide Plots You'd Like To See (In General):</b> Here's where you can share ideas for plots that aren't character specific. Things like powerswaps, love plots, alternate reality events (like House of M, or being teleported to an alternate dimension), age changes, etc. all go under here. This is to gauge interest, so if someone else suggests something you'd also like, please say so! Our group is so small that if 2 or 3 people like an idea, we'll try to make sure we put it in the game somehow. (Literally the only thing the mods will immediately say no to is a musical plot. Jo hates them. Please do not ask her to moderate one.) <b>Villain Ideas:</b> Different from character-specific villains in backstories. This is where you can just toss ideas at us in general. People like Tiny Tom, the pint-sized baddie who no one seems to be able to get their hands on, belong here. With the Ryker's Breakout in the last couple of months, NYC is still a high crime area, and it needs bad guys to flesh it out. <b>Anything else?</b> 81 comments add one
