WHO: Peggy and Nick Rogers WHEN: Backdated to evening of his return WHERE: Peg's place! WHAT: Nick returns and Peg convinced him to come over to her place, he can drink and crash with her No real warnings except swearing is a given I'd think.
Nick always made dramatic returns. And while Peggy would've preferred him to call or something, she didn't actually mind that he tended to show up unannounced at her door every few years or mark his return by driving a car into the school. He'd always been the fun unruly sibling, and she'd always connected with him over that. Even as a kid she'd go bug him to play with her, using puppy eyes and every bit of little sister privileges and manipulation she had. People said Nick was difficult, but she found him easy. It was all about being cute and knowing his buttons.
Still, she'd admit that she'd learnt from his troublesome high school days. There was nothing quite like a brother who managed to do everything to piss off the parents when it came to learning from other people's mistakes. By the time she was in high school Nick soon disappeared, but she'd already gotten a good idea of what her parents' lines were and what they could or couldn't handle in terms of rebellion. But as grudgingly as she would admit it, Peggy did really miss her brother. He'd left when she was 15 and had only shown up about three times since then, each one brief. So okay she was a bit mad at him for his truly awful communication skills (even Jes the workaholic wasn't this bad) but wanting to see him trumped that mostly so the minute he'd announced his arrival she'd badgered him into coming over.
Maybe it was a little mean and selfish, but she was counting on him needing a place to crash and knew that he'd avoid their parents, probably avoid Owen initially given they didn't get along the best, and really Jes was her only competition when it came to where Nick might first decide to go visit. But Jes lived at the school and given the choice she banked on Nick choosing the place that was an actual house and not an apartment with high schoolers living below. And if he wanted to drink when he came over? What did she care, long as she got to monopolize a bit of Nicky time she was good. Plus he needed a good whack for not calling for ages and ages.
While she waited for him to show up at her door, Peg had flown off to get a few extra bottles (yes of his preferred beer last time he was around) because she knew he'd fly through whatever stock she had. She was back now at least and figured he should be here soon, he should be done hauling that stupid car by now. Seriously, why were all her siblings car obsessed?
