as we're approaching endgame, applications for new characters will be closed starting august 1st in order to focus on the characters currently in play.

Please only claim one volunteer spot per player to start. Once 24 hours has passed as of the time of posting, you may claim more but we want to be sure to give everyone a fair shake!
Volunteer spots highlighted in blue are special slots that are meatier than the others and usually involve the discovery of metaplot nuggets. They will require some sort of public update that lets the island-at-large know about this; this can be a journal, flash reactionary, or ic/ooc— unless the slot specifies, it's up to you!
These are very limited. To keep things fair, if you grab a special slot this month you won't be able to grab one next month. (But if one is left unclaimed after 24 hours, you can claim it even if you claimed one the previous month.)
In the event that these slots are sat on and forgotten about, or if the knowledge gained isn't shared with the rest of the island, the mods reserve the right to reclaim the spot and distribute the information as they see fit.

Until the 19th, players are welcome to roll a dice (d20, DC 10) to see if their character finds a pizza button on the island. Don't throw it out!! It's foreshadowing something to come...

The trees of the Deadwoods have started to crystalize from the roots up, developing more and more each day. There's a soft golden light glowing faintly inside each one and some of the wisps seem like they're tending to them.
