Sam & Daphne (Day 3)
Despite making hundreds, if not thousands, of trips through the stargate, exploring countless worlds, and even time traveling on more than one occasion, Samantha Carter was sure that she would never get used to being jerked around by Madison Valley.
She was vaguely aware that there was something weird going on, again, but was distracted with thoughts of the two very different potential lives she could have lived if circumstances were slightly changed about ten years ago. It hurt to think of living a life without Jack, but it also hurt to think about completing years of SG1 missions without him. She knew she was going to need to talk to Martouf and wasn't looking forward to that.
All of her military training still left her unprepared for being attacked by a statue and finding herself in what seemed to be the 1800s. She managed to snag some clothes that were hanging to dry, leaving a few dollars under a rock on the windowsill of the house, and at least was somewhat blending in.
She had to assume she wasn't the only one here, but with the lack of telephones and the network, it was going to be tricky to find others. Then she spotted a familiar face across the dirt road.
"Daphne!" she called, relieved to see the younger woman who had baked pie for Jack for Valentine's Day.
