Liz and Mitch (Day 3)
Mitch had lucked out hardcore and he was well aware of it. First day in town, he'd wound up helping to patch up a man who'd dislocated his shoulder. Easy enough to fix, and good enough to help back up his explanation that he was a doctor. Never mind that he'd dropped out of med school, 1870s Madison Valley wasn't exactly going to check references since he'd proved himself competent.
And that was how he'd ended up helping out a local doctor. They weren't terribly busy -- or at least Mitch wasn't, since he was largely providing relief -- but it meant he'd have money coming in. In the event that they were well and truly stuck there? That was a good thing.
He wasn't currently needed, so he'd gone for a walk through town. It was disconcerting to walk by areas that he knew so well and see how different they were. Including the park -- or what would be the park. There were still children playing while a parent watched, though. No, not a parent, Mitch decided upon a moment of watching further. Nanny, probably.
"Children are exhausting, aren't they?" he called over to the young woman as he approached. "I know mine certainly were." Only slightly fudging -- he'd never dealt with Clem or Chloe at those ages, but they'd been exhausting enough as the pre-teens he'd gotten.
