"Unfortunately, yeah." It was rare that Tess spoke against him, always too afraid someone would overhear it and go running to him. The knowledge, though, that somewhere out there was a Madison Valley where things weren't a constant nightmare? It'd tripped something in her. Or broken, not that she wasn't already plenty of that.
