Tess didn't know what was going on, only that she didn't like it. She knew more than some people probably did, because Wanda was staying with her and the older woman had been out and around trying to figure things out. But when it came right down to it, all Tess knew was that things were getting bad.
Alright, they'd already been bad. Now they were getting worse.
She was lucky, though, in that she wasn't due to go check in with Manes or Rosa for another day or two. Not unless she learned anything particularly interesting in the meantime. And, well, she was kind of just thinking that maybe she wouldn't learn anything.
She was tired of doing what other people wanted, of bowing to his whims, of just surviving. It wasn't much, just an act of rebellion that would probably end up getting her hurt, but she just didn't care.
Tess had gone out for a walk, trying to keep her head clear and from feeling that "am I still broken" feeling that never went well for her. She'd been out for maybe half an hour when she saw Pamela. Crap. That probably didn't bode well for her.
