Scott took the bag and looked inside it for a moment. Had he not known Kitty, he'd be more suspicious, but he had to trust someone here. Even with his propensity to trust people in general, he thought trusting Kitty was on the safer side of things. She could have just kept going passed the coffee shop after all.
