For a moment Alex thought that Scott was going to be a hero and he would be up in the tree for another night. Except luck was on his side tonight and the wolf turned his back on the whoever was having an equally bad night.
Alex smiled as he slowed his breathing, carefully watching through the scope as Scott moved toward the mark. Once the teenager was in the right spot, Alex applied just the right amount of pressure to the trigger and fired. And then waited the few seconds it would take for the bullet to hit Scott in the back, waiting to see if he hit his mark.
