“Movers and Shakers” will be on hand to help new residential students move in. Computer Services staff will be in residence halls beginning at noon to assist with computer set-up. Housing information, water, tools and supplies will be available dorm lobbies.

8:30 am - 3:30 pm Building Class Schedules. All first-year and transfer students must meet with their Knight leaders and faculty advisors to put together a schedule of classes for the summer and fall term.
4:40 pm - 6:00 pm Food and Fun Caribbean Style. Back Quad Enjoy good food and lots of fun and music.
9:00 pm - 1:00 am Late Night With the AU Clubs and Sports reps in the Danna Student Center

7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Adventure Day. Buses depart from in front of the Moody Student Center. All new students, along with several AU faculty and staff, will board buses (bus number and departure time noted on back of nametag) bound for Wekiwa Springs in Apopka, Fl for a day of fun in the sun; lunch provided. The trip is mandatory for first-year and transfer students.
6:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. Looking Ahead: The Road to Commencement. Front Quad New students officially begin their journey at AU with family and friends looking on. Dean Maya , SGA leadership and AU faculty member Dr. Peter Coogan will participate in this welcoming ceremony.
8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for Ice-Cream. Social
First Six Weeks Program: Residence Hall Staff collaborate with faculty and campus-wide staff to facilitate programs in the residence halls that address the academic and transitional issues first year students typically face the first six weeks of the quarter. These will be mandatory nightly seminars every evening, followed by late night dinner and games! Topics for each of the six weeks include the following:
Week 1: Safety & Personal Wellness, Combating Sexual Assault, Navigating Campus: Professors & Classes, Goal Setting: Why am I Here? Week 2: Freedom vs. Homesickness, Living with a Roommate, Time Management, Note Taking, Study Skills. Week 3: Finding an Academic Advisor, Making Responsible Choices, Alcohol, Sex, Relationships, Body Image. Week 4: Stress Management, Procrastination, Making It Through the Quarter, Diversity: What Makes Us All Individuals. Week 5: Choosing a Major, Career Testing, Academic Advising, Campus Resources, Living Within a Community. Week 6: Campus Involvement, Campus Activities, Campus Resources.
