Waiting "Are you sure you don't want to watch another movie with us?" Claudia asked Fred as she stood up from the couch and stretched her arms above her head. "Jack can join us when he gets back. If he gets back tonight. You know how Artie can be." She then looked over at Regan and shrugged.
"I know, but I think I'm going to head upstairs since I'm sure Artie will be wanting me to try to fix the artifact tomorrow." She smiled at the others. "Thanks for the movie night. It was fun."
"Goodnight, Fred," Leena said.
Heading upstairs, Fred went into the room she shared with her fiance. She wasn't exactly sure what Jack and Pete had been thinking, messing with the artifact the way she had, but when the two of them were around each other, they had a tendency to get into things. It was even worse when John was involved. The three of them were like little kids in a big toy store sometimes.
Not that she completely blamed them. There were times when she just wanted to go through the Warehouse, playing with all the things that Tesla and Edison had invented. But she knew that not only Artie would kill her, but so would Mrs. Frederick. Actually, she was pretty sure that Mrs. Frederick could make them disappear if she wanted to. When she had approached her and Jack about leaving Eureka after Jack had been fired from his job as sheriff, the two of them hadn't been sure what to make of the "invitation". But once they had seen the Warehouse, they had both known they were getting into something to rival Eureka's levels of strange and weird.
And boy, had they been right.
After getting into her pajamas, Fred got out Jack's along with some towels in case he needed to go shower. She had no idea what was in that goo that had sprayed all over him and Pete, but hopefully, it wouldn't make him start flying. Or turn him invisible. Or any of the number of things that would have happened had they still lived in Eureka.
Looking out the window, she saw Pete's car pull up outside. As Jack got out of the car, she smiled. Well, at least Artie had finally let them go.
Climbing onto the bed, she leaned back against the headboard and waited for Jack to come up to their room.
