From her parent's house in Reading
Katie had excused herself from the dinner table after picking at her food, though tonight it wasn't from lack of hunger so much as anxiety over Potterwatch. Slipping up the stairs and away from her parents, she stepped into her bedroom and shut the door behind her and moved to sit on her bed cross-legged. Her wireless sat on the windowsill, and she picked her wand up off of the bedside table to start the old thing up, hoping she had the right password; she had missed the last broadcast and had heard this week's password from a customer in Quality Quidditch Supplies on Tuesday.
The wireless crackled to life, and Katie set her wand back down. Pulling her blanket up around herself, she waited to hear the familiar voices - or at least voice - that could either bring her good news or terrible news. After listening to 'River' for a few moments, though, it was clear that nothing too bad had happened, though she hadn't been aware of Luna or Dean being missing, so that was a bit frightening. Her thoughts strayed to her brother for a moment, wondering if any of his classmates were missing too, and hoping that they were all safe. She made a mental note to owl him in the morning and check.
As depressing as Potterwatch could be, it was still comforting to hear Lee's voice, and the voices of other people out there who were on the same side, even if Katie wasn't really sure what that side was. (Reply to this)
