Who: Anthony Goldstein, Lavender Brown
What: All detentions and no play makes Lavender something-something...
Where: The Library
When: Backdated to Tuesday 22nd
Lavender woke with a start when her elbow slipped from the table, no longer supporting the weight of her heavy head. She yelped, Mrs Pince shushed! and Lavender tried to look apologetic from behind her fort of books. When the ferocious librarian scooted away, Lavender let out a small whimper and slumped back down behind the wall of homework she had formed.
Detentions were horrible, but Lavender felt she could handle them. Her stubbornness coupled with her certainty that she was right, made those horrible hours almost bearable. What Lavender struggled with was managing her coursework after those gruelling hours, and though her Professors were mostly supportive, Lavender still had the reality of NEWTs at the end of the academic year.
Lavender had started a new, rotten routine where she got up while it was still dark and did her homework, ate a quick breakfast and went to her classes. After, she devoured a quick dinner, went to detention, and went to the library to do her homework, which of course multiplied with every passing day. When the library closed, she stayed up as late as she could in the Common Room to do more, but her work was not up to scratch. Her resolve was beginning to break. She felt fragile, so much that she had to take several deep breaths to keep herself from crying out of frustration. Lavender let out a long sigh before pulling her Transfiguration homework towards her again, her hand aching from writing continuously.
