After The Rising - Storylines

Ello ello everyone! I'm Erin and I come bearing Kap!

He's probably going to be a bit quiet for a little while until he gets hie bearings and figures out a place to sort of fit in, but he's friendly and really likes helping people. He's also pretty tall (6'4").

He's absolutely no good with firearms, and he tends to dislike them in general, but he's pretty darn good with a machete, or, on short-term, a compound bow if he gets a chance to find one and get a good amount of practice (it's been a while).

If people were planning on going out to scavenge for things, he wouldn't be so good for the zombie fighting, but he's a strong guy so he'd be able to load things up. Formerly he worked at a shipyard building and repairing freighters so he's very good with metalworking and would be handy when it comes to fortifying/building things.

good at hunting zombies(not that it requires much effort i know)but can train someone either to hunt them,or use guns(which seems to a running theme ha)or maybe someone to just chill with,share cds books or whatnot

I should have probably done this before I went to bed, but hey! I'm Cain. I also play rossio.

Anyway, this is Pashenka (or Pasha), the angry little Russian man. Since Dan's pretty asocial, Pashenka will probably end up being my ~*social butterfly*~ character--even though he's rude, crude, and just sort of a miserable pissant in general.

Moving on to storyline ideas:
Like his sister, Pashenka hates obeying rules. He grew up doing whatever he was told. Now that he's an adult, authority leaves a bad taste in his mouth. So... friction would be awesome.

Guns. He knows them. He likes them. He would, with coaxing, be willing to teach people how to shoot and take care of them.

Supply runs. Pasha is perpetually stir crazy. Being cooped up in a prison with a bunch of people he doesn't know very well isn't exactly his ideal living situation. As such, he's willing to brave zombies if it means fresh air and new scenery.

I know that's not a lot of ideas. Sorry. But I'm always online (no life at all :D), and more often than not, I'm willing to scene. So if something here strikes your fancy, feel free to drop me a line at pasha baruskov.

Hey there all,

I'm Jen and I'm behind both Willow and Zoya. And I guess I should have like...done a post for Willow. Err, that'll come later today. But uh, anyway. The crazy Russian girl's background can be found here. I did pretty thoroughly emphasize her temper, but she's got other moods and emotions. She's human, and all.

Now, Zoya definitely chafes at authority, even authority she respects so I'm not sure how well she might get along with the cop crowd. Still, a little friction can be fun. The girl's obsessed with looking like a bad ass, so opportunities to go out scavenging, maybe bend the rules a little bit, are all fair game with her.

She's also probably due for the hard realization that looking cool and living dangerous isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm not talking character death or anything, but maybe someone who's been down that road. I'm also not promising she'll listen.

Other than that, I'm open to usual opportunities for friends, partners in crime, rivals, and maybe even a romantic interest. Plus any suggestions. My AIM (zoyabaruskov) is up something like 24/7, so if I don't have an away up I'm probably near my computer. Worst case scenario, I'll have to get back to you. Drop me a line whenever.

Piggy backing on what the lovely Leroymun has said, I'm going to throw in my two cents. We totally need to start doing things now that there has been character development big time. So here is a list me and hlyshtzombiiiiieess (lol) and Jen put together.

We need a team of four five? who are strong willed and also not afraid and good with weapons to go out for supplies. So I'm thinking the following people.

- Leniceya goes to be like the medic.
- Dan stays behind for the technical hoo ha, (You'll get your adventure yet.)
- Jack and Leroy who know firearms.
- Maybe Wolfe because he likes to piss people off?.

There's our four unless anyone objects or wants to join in.

Now our supplies list.

- Batteries
- Shaving cream/Toothbrushes/Bathroom supplies/Toilet paper.
- Lighter, matches, flashlights, anything in the light directory.
- Books, magazines, reading material. (Even if the press isn't going to go haay paris hilton anytime soon.)
- Candles
- Tampons/Female accessories.
- Blankets, pillows.
- Bullets. Gun accessories.
- Clothes.
- Wiring
- Tarp
- Over the counter and prescription drugs.

Now would this be a big thing for the survivors? Would they be excited? Scared? The flu is going around, everyone is worrying about that.

Any thought or suggestions would rock.

This is just a short list of reasons for interaction in a prison, and maybe things that we can all get together on as a community in the future. Feel free to add to this. Ideas are good things. :)

LACK OF PRIVACY → I don't know if the cells are barred or have the heavy-duty doors. Bars could be totally awkward because everyone on the block can and will hear every little laugh, whimper, fart--and all the noctural activities of the needy residents. ;D Extra bedsheets could be used as curtains, or depending on what supplies are availible, people could even put up wooden planks and somehow attach them to the bars. So they'd look more like little rooms than houses. Of course, if we have the heavy doors, those are electronically locked, and there could always be a malfunction...

Shower rooms would be just one big room with shower heads lining the walls. Hello unwanted exposure! Maybe there'd have to be seperate times for men and and women to shower? A previous or future team of supply runners could always pick up a ton of shower curtains and they could make walls, too.

QUARANTINES → If someone happens to wander up to the fence and no one knows if they're virus-free, or if someone develops something that could seriously hurt others, or just are in general a real danger to others (lashing out, going crazy, etc) there would be solitary confinement cells somewhere in the prison. Those tiny, dark rooms and the window in the door is something like two-by-five inches big.

A COUNCIL? → People are without any real leaders and they'd have to have some kind of organization. Maybe those that have the proper background for medic could get together and go over supplies, exchange ideas on ways to modify treatments, etc. People that can cook or have anything to do with the food industry could get together and do the same thing. There'd also be a need to know who can make repairs in plumbing, equipment, the air system, etc. The best of the marksmen could teach those that could handle themselves how to handle firearms. Can't keep the knowledge to yourself when you might need someone to help you out later.

RECREATION → All I can think of is the library and the yard where there'd be the weights. Let's think of some more things to keep people from going crazy!

MEDICAL SUPPLIES → They're eventually going to run out. Some prison hospitals are reputed to be worse than dealing with illnesses or injuries on your own, too. It all just depends on the prison itself.

Hi guys. I'm Linly, and this is Alexander (Alex, Al if you're REAL close, AJ if you know him well enough to know his middle name) Ducall. He's not the sweetest cookie in the bunch, but he keeps most of that under wraps unless he really knows you. He's quiet at first, and long after, but that's mostly because he's never really been sure how to build trust that didn't come from necessity. Fact of the matter is, he doesn't speak much at all unless he's spoken to, and more often than not- he's got one thing running through his mind and another on his tongue.

He isn't sure of himself by any bit, but he wouldn't state that to anyone, because he is still a 19 year old boy. All he really wants to do is go back to college, and he wants to think that he can at some point. For now, he works in the kitchen. (I know Noah does too, so maybe we could work out a working friendship or awkward working situation with them?)

I'm hoping I can get someone to draw him out of his quiet state (I think I've got her) and maybe someone to sort of take advantage of the fact that he won’t stand up for himself. (Even if it means just pushing your general around the place clean up work off on to him.) Any relationships (he's gay) would have to be long coming... He's closeted and fearful of that whole thing- so that would be patience and a lot of build up to happen far from now. Any female relationships that want to approach him and have that be weird and not happening- hey that’s an option too. He's just bumbling and slow.

Hey everbody, I'm Nico and I always feel like introducing myself to a self-support group when I write an introduction ... err, but anyway.

I'm joining you with David, some kid from an all too typical broken household, who ain't nearly as tough as he likes to pretend - once you get past the whole "I really don't give a damn" attitude, he's a rather nice guy who takes a lot of things to heart but isn't one for keeping rules in mind or always thinking before acting.

I'm Riddley and I'm the person behind River (belleriver). I'm looking forward to the game, it looks great. I'll be working on a post for River later today after work.

River is a bit on the criminal side so I don't know how the cop people will feel about her but that makes things even more fun. River's father was an inmate at the prison until his death during the riots so that opens to some interesting interaction I believe and she has mommy issues LOL.

Hey there. This would be Aleksandar Ronsenberg. He's your typical cop type with a nicotine and social problem. Alek has a thick Danish accent (because he was born in Denmark) and is rather quiet and stern (because he was brought up that way.) Despite being rather intimidating, he has a soft spot for children and is always eager to volunteer his expertise whenever it is needed. Detailed points of his personality are in his journal.

He may be quiet, but he tends to open up and grow talkative to intelligent and mature people. His AIM is ' ronsenberg ' so feel free to call on him whenever your character needs something. More often than not he'll come to aid, unless he's running low on nicotine or he's in a special sort of bad mood.

Hi. This is Daniel Rossio, an evenly-tempered... well, nerd. He was a computer programmer before the outbreak, and he's still really, really into his work; probably more so than he was before, as a type of coping mechanism. He's been at the prison for quite a while, but he doesn't leave the security/computer area very often, so while he has a passing relationship with most of the other characters, he's not really friends with anybody. I'm willing to change that though, if anybody's interested in befriending a geek~

Hey guys! This girl is Adison Gates, but most people just call her Addie. She's eighteen years old and she loves to invent things. She's a smart, short tempered girl who love science and is kind of a nerd about inventing things of possible helpful or nonsense use. She has an older brother running around and lost communication with her parents while she was trying to get to this safe house. I am looking for all kinds of lines; ex's, enemies, family feel people, romances, etc. I love sl's and so I would be willing to fill just about any and all with you players. As of this point and time I don't have many specific lines listed in my journal aside from her brother and her best friend that she met in her journey to the location, but more will be added in the near future if you want to check back in it. Her bio is also in there if you'd like to read more up on her!

This is Celena Leroy (pronounced leh-roy), but most people call her Roy (or Lena). Her husband was a corrections officer at this very prison while she was a bank teller in town. She's great with firearms and also loves gardening and knitting/sewing. She is more likely to hide her emotions than to share them and is very much a mother figure--but don't let that misguide you. She has no problem stepping up and being tough when the situation calls for it.

Possible storylines include younger adults and children that want someone to have that mommy vibe to make the days and nights a little easier; anyone that she might work alongside; someone that will challenge her or get to her emotionally in ways that others don't... I'm really up for anything.

The biggest SL I'd like to have is someone that knows what happened to her husband. He was at the prison when things started to happen and he called her on her phone, once, the message garbled since there were some weak signal spots on the prison grounds. Maybe he's alive, maybe he's dead, or maybe he turned into a zombie--not know what happened to someone is always so much worse. I was leaning towards the zombie thing because maybe said person would have been the one to kill him and they would rather spare her the grief?

This would be Leni. She was a nurse for just about four years before the outbreak. I know Barnaby was in for nursing as well, so maybe they can buddy up on the helping-with-sicklies front?
Otherwise, Leni's very outdoors-y and isn't fond of technically being caged in but understands the necessity. She's good in a garden, shy until she gets to know you but is stronger and fiercer than she looks! She's into helping so long as you show her what to do when she doesn't know. She's a quick learner.

Jack grew up as Jacelynn Melendez, in Detroit, Michigan. Her mother a single parent had to provide for both Jack and her brothers until one day she abandoned them and the oldest brother had to bring them all up. With the disappearance of both their father at a young age, and their mother, she knew she had to do something. At the age of 17 she began to study nursing, excellent grades despite the fights in school, the Latina graduated and headed off to college to become a nurse. But it didn't work out, her maternal streak couldn't stand to see children or her patients dying when the time came and they were too sick.

Defining the law the only way she could, the woman became a police officer, and served as much as she could. Meeting a man by the name of Joe Callahan, they were expecting a baby until one night during a call the suspect that had asked her to wait till he could find his I.D, claiming he was a student. When all else failed, Jack was shot in the stomach, the baby was killed inside of her. After a therapist, the losing of her boyfriend and a world of pain she found him and killed him, taking off.

People know about her, people are scared of her, but she proves to not care, and not let it get to her. She was never convicted of the crime, she left no prints and threw the gun in the trash.

This is Barnaby St. James, Or B as he prefers to be called. When The Rising first began he was in nursing school and only a semester from graduation. Though he might not be able to preform open heart surgery, he's very skilled in wound care and the like. He's a sweet guy over all, even if the recent events have left their scars on him. Now he's just trying to help the group survive and take care of those who need medical attention. As of right now, he needs everything, especially a little brother between the ages of 17-20.
