"Hey, we all have to have our strengths," Skye said, smiling brilliantly when Itzal called him persistent. It was more likely that Skye just didn't know when to quit though. He had been on the island long enough that this was what he lived for-- the fight, the struggle, the win-- it was what Skye enjoyed, and he could be single-minded about it when it came to fighting, as many of his opponents found out once the good-natured guy was in the arena.
Which meant that it was probably a good thing Nox was as stubborn as he was, or else the training session might've already been over. Having someone who refused to give in even when the odds weren't in their favor was nice, it was usually Skye's attitude as well when he was faced with a match against someone with much cooler powers than his. Refusing to give up could be a bigger advantage than energy blasts or ice or shockwaves anyway.
"Of course I'm finding it enjoyable, and you're fun to play with, Nox," Skye laughed, the sound muffled a little as they struggled on the floor, the teasing shamelessly continuing even as he tried not to lose his grip on the other mutant as Nox threw them backwards. It made Endless tighten his hold, one arm wrapping around the other man's waist even as Nox's headbutt made him see stars, blood dripping down his face and his nose throbbing from it. "You know.. I could hurt you to make you yield, but it wouldn't be as fun as this."
He could have probably held on forever because he really was enjoying making Nox struggle against him, but after another few minutes of letting Itzal struggle against him Skye just let go. He stayed sprawled on the floor while the back of his hand wiped absently at the blood from his nose. Smiling again at him, he said in a matter or fact manner, "I like a man who refuses to quit, but you're not going to beat me in here."
