Itzal was aware of the change that had occurred, but decided to pay it no mind. Acknowledging such feelings would only make things more awkward and uncomfortable. Oh how things were starting so well. The shade would attempt to return things to the way they were, but that scenario seemed incredibly unlikely. "Well, to keep oneself alive and well, I have to. I'm not the most physical person, so I have to find out ways to avoid contact with others." He shared, being honest but only to an extent. Of course he enjoyed what he did, but he did intend to keep himself alive and he certainly kept himself from having the opponent from making contact with him.
Nox decided to spend more time listening than talking. It might prove to be better but he soon found his chances slipping. The potential that Anole had was considerable if not for his reasonably sunny disposition and his unwillingness to fight. Also, his trust was slipping away. "Really?" He inquired, almost instinctively responding to Vic's answer. "The best thing I could probably say is you have to do what's comfortable to you and what keeps you going." He made attempts to sound sincere.
Relief came when they discussed the lizard's love for another. "I see." His tactics remained the same, listen more, talk less. Listening to the other man's feelings about his lover did cause Itzal to say something, "I envy you." He put simply, looking back down at his shadow. "You both are incredibly lucky individuals. To find love here when the odds are so much against you. I envy you." His voice quieted towards the end. As dark as the young man may be, even he was not beyond the need for human contact. Perhaps he would find someone to confide in later down the road, but it did not look likely soon.
Perhaps he drove it home too far. "Good." He nodded, turning his attention back towards the other. Truthfully, he'd rather put up his declining chances of becoming actual 'friends' with Vic than to reflect on himself. He smiled softly and nodded, even though he wasn't sure that the other would see.
"Strange." He repeated, standing up now. Without realizing it, Anole had brought things up that made even Nox uncomfortable. The other did not have much ambition when it came to rising the ranks, quite opposed to Itzal. The shade continually kept trying to keep his mind on the present situation. "I suppose I am." He responded, his voice rather empty now. Letting out a sigh, finally losing the fight with himself, he turned back towards the other. "Well, I hope you find him. He could look after you." He smiled, but that too even seemed void. "I... have to get some rest. I'm a little tired." He stated, holding his head a little bit as he moved away. "See you again soon, hopefully." Itzal said before heading off towards his block.
