What a girl wants.... Who: Ribbon OTA When: Evening, 9 June Where: The Amusement Park; Cotton Candy Stand What: Ribbon likes her sugar, so she decides she wants cotton candy. It totally isn't her fault things get broken around her.
The night was still early and Ribbon was hungry, not for protein, but for sugar. If anyone had been around her more than a little bit, they knew her sweet tooth was nothing to snear at. The girl could consume her physical weight in marshmallows in one sitting. Pretty impressive.
Except tonight she didn't want marshmallows and as she exited her cell to prowl, both of her handlers were very much aware that the girl was looking for something. Spending a great deal of time with her made it easy to tell when Ribbon was looking for something. She had the kind of hearing which made it easy for her to tell where nonstationary objects, things that made no noise while sitting still, were without her having to do any kind of motion herself. However, when she wanted something and didn't know exactly where to find it, the questing touch thing happened a lot.
People learned to sit still when her touch ran over them, or they got hurt quickly.
The island's soft breeze picked up Ribbon's hair off her neck and shoulders, twisting it through the air along with the ribbons moving of their own accord. The woman made her odd chittering noise. Why she did that when she was essentially alone, no one was sure, there had been posits of her using it as a form of echolocation.
Outside the block, she raised her head and sniffed the air in an obvious fashion. Slow breath in, then the tinkling sound of the minor chain falling to the ground. Ribbon had broken it as an afterthought. The woman was tired of behaving. That meant no more handlers, no more being barred from places, no more playing nice with those who got in her way. Was she picking up the attitude from others around her? Maybe the overall feel of the island was what was making Ribbon disagreeable. It was hard to tell what would or wouldn't upset her.
She was out of reach in seconds, traveling at a rate of speed to make a car jealous. At the flags of the amusement park, she went from ground to air transport, stopping to hold onto one for about thirty seconds. The monster was sniffing the air again, trying to find something specific undoubtedly. A smile crossed her mask-like face, showing the points of her seeming multitude of teeth.
Then she was on the move again. A family of four was standing in front of the cotton candy stall when Ribbon landed on top of it and hung down to stick her head in one of the sides. The attendant went pale the color of baby powder.
"Ca-can I ha-help you?" he stammered out.
Ribbon stuck one black tentacle into the candy spinner, a curl of pink sugar floss building up around it. A few seconds later, she snatched it back out before stuffing her face.
