"It's good for survival," he nodded in agreement, "but not too useful for much else. But, no I've got the arm and I'm sure that's going to prove useful," he added with another smile, holing up the large, tough-scaled appendage.This was gong to be an interesting change in his life, he figured he only had to wait out the adjustment period.
A hint of brown crept into his cheeks at the next comment, giving a quiet chuckle. "I'm rather sure they are, I do hope your foot wasn't hurt too badly," he added genuinely, an apology clearly written in his eyes. Vic got the feeling that D was a tougher customer than he let on, at least he hoped he was, given the mouth he had on him.
"Thank you," Vic returned genuinely. He was well aware how lucky he as, one rarely got a second change at love, he was grateful for it. "I'm sure you'll find someone to light up your life, if you'll stop being so uptight about it all," he added with a small, teasing smile. He really was quite sure that the boy was going to give himself an ulcer.
"It's my pleasure," he assured the younger, reahing out ot lay a hand briefly on the youth's shoulder. "Just keep it together, chin up and all that. Don't let this place get you donw, they'd like that way too much. I'm always around if you need an ear. And it looks like I need to find out the preferences of a big smelly flea bag in the mean time." Ok, sue him, he just could not resist that one last jab.
