The beach had turned into a disaster. Turning around and being forced to take on Gambit in the tournament had only exacerbated a growing unhappiness in her. So she'd been somewhat holed up in her room for the better part of the following days. She ate quickly when out of her room and essentially just stayed out of the way. It was easier that way. Maybe it was true, there was no reason to make friends. Easier to sit back and ignore the fact that you were still human, descend to the level of being someone's dog, some little freak pet for them to play with, and let it go.
Violet could force herself to that. It wouldn't be much harder than accepting she wasn't to be seen in the daytime because those who saw her wanted to ask questions she didn't want asked.
Victor's voice made her raise an eyebrow at the whole thing. She'd certainly not expected to hear from him. After that whole mess which was essentially her fault, she didn't really expect him to want anything to do with her. "Ain't locked," she answered without getting up. She'd been laid out on her bed staring at the walls. There was nothing to look at on the wall, but it was the same as everything else, there was nothing to see. Ethan hadn't forbidden her going back to work, but so far, they hadn't put her back on the schedule missing too many days.
