Who: Anole & NPC Mutant
When: Saturday, May 2nd [forward dated] TOURNAMENT
Where:Sand Arena
What: Round One in the tournament, Anole vs a water elemental

Anole hated elementals, almost as much as he hated mutants with projectile powers. They were so hard to dodge, to predict. Those who fought hand to hand were much easier to avoid, to dodge. This particular mutant appeared to be a water elemental, how bad could she be, right? He shook out his limbs as he watched her circle closer to him. She had a water bottle, what was she going to do, drench him? Water did little to his scales. Anole was confidant.

He pushed the dark glasses he wore to shield his eyes against the sun's light further up his nose and dropped into a careful defensive stance. Water, just what could she do with water? There wasn't enough to flood the stadium, did she have enough control to form a bubble of it around his head and drown him? Now that would not be fun, not in the least. He pushed the thought from his mind, deciding it was far too unpleasant to focus on, besides the fight that was about to begin was far more important.

He watched her open the water bottle, the water pulling out and forming a pulsing bubble floating just above her hand. Again the thought of that bubble slipping around his head and suffocating him filled his thoughts. Crap. She was that good. He licked his lips before he quickly thrust himself to one side, movements a bit slow thanks to the sand his feet were sinking into.

She was quick. He watched the bubble pull apart and shift, into several smaller forms and then freeze over. Green eyes went wide as he watched her over one shoulder as he ran for the arena wall. Freeze them over? She could do that? It was just then that he decided he could be in real trouble. His opponent waved a hand and the shards whizzed through the air, sticking into his arms, back and the stadium wall. Anole gave a soft hiss of pain as he forced himself to keep running and made a flying leap for the arena wall.

The moment he connected to the wall his powers took over, he stuck to it like the giant lizard he was, his skin rippling once before he blended into the wall. His heart raced as he scurried along, trying to distance himself from where he had last been visible, wanting to buy himself some time to think, to plan. Ok, she had good control and could make him bleed, he did not like that combination.

It took him a moment to realize that the female was moving easily with him, as if she knew just where he was, no matter where he scurried. A moment of frantic thought and the reason became clear to him. He still had the slowly melting ice shards stuck in his scales, and she was following the melting droplets to him like a trail of breadcrumbs. Upon realizing this, his first instinct was to rip them all from his person, he pulling two out and watching them float back to the elementalist, who was standing just below him.

That was when the plan formed. She was inexperienced obviously and was relying too much on her powers. Forcing the thought of drowning in a bubble from his mind, Victor scurried quickly along, letting her think he was running scared. She raced just behind him, and was not ready when he twisted to face her and lashed out with his tongue. He grabbed her foot and pulled hard, sending dust and the female falling. He wasted no time in dropping off the wall, aiming to land a heel into her stomach to try and distract her.

The female reacted just as Anole had hoped, she sitting quickly up and allowing him to get a green arm around her slender throat. Those who had been long on Revolve, much less those born there, did not have the luxury of going easy on women. A woman was just as dangerous an opponent as a man and had to be treated as such. The elementalist panicked as her air supply was cut off, the water exploding into a million droplets, then reforming, then simply falling to the earth. Victor held on for dear life, clamping both arms about her throat and winding his legs around her body to keep his grip.

At last the struggling was over, she was out. Anole breathed a sigh of relief, releasing her body and stepping away. He watched the staff arrive to carry her unconscious body out. She was just out, he reminded himself, not dead. Still, Victor hated having to hurt people. The buzzer sounded and handlers arrived to more herd than escort him out. They had to prepare for the next fight, after all, and Vic would have to have his wounds tended to before his next fight. Such was the life of a mutant at Revolve.
