I like him because... Who: Ribbon and Ernie (NPC) When: Early Morning April 25th Where: Ribbon's Cell What: Ernie and Ribbon discuss some facts of life.
Ernie had not expected to find Geno gone. Ribbon had various places she seemed to like to settle since she wasn't interested in interacting with others all that much. She much preferred to stay in the trees away from everyone. So the two of them being gone was bad enough, then there was the leftover dead body. He recognized the man's face, but really that was all. His name escaped him immediately. His immediate concern was where was his partner and their charge?
Now days after the fact, he was still trying to wrap his head around the idea.
"Hey, Ribbon," he called her and was greeted by her turning the white moon of her face in his direction. Then she blinked, slowly closing those almond shaped black eyes. "What happened to Geno?"
He didn't flinch away when she reached over and tapped out a message on the computer. It was becoming her primary form of communication with her handlers. Lucky shot Geno. Killed Lucky. A very, very basic account of what occurred in those few seconds. Not that anything else mattered to her about what went on. Lucky made a drastic mistake, idiots did things like that.
The words appeared on the screen and for the longest time he just stared at them. The words themselves meant plenty, but there was an awareness behind them.
"Why did you kill Lucky?" No one expected Ribbon to care what happened to her handlers, she killed enough of them on her own for such an idea to be foolish.
Lucky shot Geno that answered everything in her mind. The small confines of her cell made it quite obvious she was becoming agitated with his line of questioning. Ribbon was behaving outside of expectations. Whether or not that was a good thing was entirely up to the person looking at the situation. The soft scrap of her ribbons along the walls of her cell was still vaguely unnerving despite the weeks he had spent listening to it. Lucky wanted to shoot me. Not a hard assumption to make. Shooting a handler didn't mean anything on Revolve. Shooting a mutant, especially one of Ribbon's caliber, would mean a lot.
