It seemed everyone was telling him to shut up now. Violet was the only one he considered to have a right to say it, but he didn't agree with her. He was never able to say what was on his mind, always a quiet, timid thing. The one day he did decide to open his mouth, he was told to shut it. What if he didn't want to, for once? He didn't care if he got hurt. Fighting was so much easier than having to have a nice normal conversation.
While the feral had resorted to mere vulgar threats, the dark haired man knew how to actually upset D. The boy was sensitive about his faults in the arena. He was too slim and delicate to survive without his powers. The man sounded so much like his father then that an instant hatred cemented itself in Dietre. He'd kill the man if he could, with relish. Unfortunately he couldn't, not with so many people around to stop him.
Dietre fumed as the feral made a show of removing his collar, but anything he might have said or done in response was put on hold as Mason suddenly appeared. D blinked, surprised by the fight, and completely confused. That is, until Mason's screams explained the cause. Dietre instinctively moved towards Violet. The feral had killed Vic's former lover? Dietre didn't want the creature anywhere near Violet from now on, he was to dangerous.
After Mason stalked off, the shock began to wear off, and D's anger began to return. He might have been fine, that is, if Carr didn't suddenly leave his side to comfort the feral. The boy seethed, agreeing with Mason.
"If you're free, why are you here? To throw it in Violet's face? Leave." He clenched his jaw, then sneered, an expression that did not seem meant for D's face. "..But I suppose an ugly cur like you could never make survive off the island." Normal society would never accept such an obvious mutant.
