The idea of him being different made her all the more confused. Mia had grown up around mutants. Her only interaction with humans was when they came to the island. So to her, the mutants were the norm while the humans were the strange ones. So she looked at Gibs and tried to understand what he meant. Mia generally didn't remember hurting anyone. Her mind wouldn't let her. She retreated into her brain and doctored the memories to non-existence. Not to say that she couldn't hurt someone, simply that she didn't remember it.
For a second, it seemed she was unable to make herself understood. Though she opened her mouth to say something, trying to make herself understood. "Push away, you scared, are they?" The words were strange in her head, the concepts hard for her to wrap her head around. Then she seemed to huff and get confused again. Shaking it off, the smile was back, the same lost one she'd exhibited earlier.
