Remy blinked with surprise at her offer. The bed really was too narrow for two people but if he slept on his side they should fit. It had taken her a lot to ask and he appreciated the effort. He really wanted to sleep next to her, to hold her in his arms and soak up her warmth. The need hit him like a mack truck, straight in the stomach, but he hid his feelings well with a nod and a grin.
"Much obliged," he said, picking up the blankets and dumping them on the chair. "I promise I won' do nothin'." Crawling onto the bed with his back to the wall so she wouldn't feel trapped, he settled on his side with the extra pillow. It was cramped but warm and he could see the flecks of light brown in her eyes, the way her dark lashes clumped together at the edges and that scent again - dust and spice and orange blossoms. Of course being this close to her had its disadvantages like the growing arousal curling in his stomach and making him hard. He made sure to keep his hips from brushing hers and silently thanked the blanket that hid the sight. "Thank you, chere."
