Jason looked around, somewhat worried about the partner's comment, however, the light of it would need to be twisted so that those humans listening around him thought of it one way and the mutant that the whelp was specifically talking to could look at it another. "Yes, he's a very good partner. Vicious, fierce, and yet there's a gentle side to him. Especially in the dead of night when the rest of the household is in bed." He grinned then, that same telltale smile touching his face. Oh, Gibs would be furious about this one, however, it was nothing but the truth. The woman could take that statement anyway she wanted, and the humans around them would take it how the Illusionist wanted it to be taken. The poor boy had walked right into it.
A moment later and Jason busied himself with the bottle of wine his pup was still carrying, picking it up and examining it for marks. Had the wine been mistreated on it's wandering through the whole island at top speed while attached to the over worried animal? There didn't seem to be any marks, and the bottle was still in good quality for it's trip that the 'human' didn't actually know about. He picked up the napkin he had been shredding earlier and used it to rub off a smudge of dirt that Kyle had likely dragged the glass item through before looking up at the question.
A smile graced the man's face, somewhat gentle and settled for the moment. The insane look from before had all but vanished. "I think the pretty woman before us is right, my boy. We should be going. I have my wine and you have your passage back to your comfortable four-poster bed." The underlying insinuation could be picked up by anyone with a little experience with such things. Gibs, likely, would have no idea what it really meant, the message under it pointedly focused on the female behind the bar. What she took from it and what the truth happened to be may or may not coincide. He was dealing in fine lines as the drunken allowance had all but crippled his spoken regulations within his normal balanced morality. He stood carefully, almost wobbling on his skinny legs, and yet managed to turn abruptly and walk his way across the room without fail. He braced himself on the door jam to turn and look for Kyle, his tone insistent and demanding. "Come on, boy. We've a plane to catch."
