There were many who didn't know Mia's longterm reputation; however, those who did avoided her as best they could. They didn't want anything to do with her. Better to brush her off, outright run away if possible. Before that horrid man showed up with his cannibal teeth and black wings. Almost no one knew that the personality which made up Reaper had been subsumed. He was still there, and would probably come out if she was more threatened than Aim could handle, but he was for the most part gone.
"Ball?" Mia looked utterly confused at that. How did one invite a person to a ball...wait..wait...the ball in the story was a dance with pretty lights, right? Cinderella went to a ball with her glass slippers. Otherwise, a ball was a thing, not a place, you could go to a ball, but you wouldn't need an invitation. If one could see confusion on a face, it had a permanent place on Mia's face. She was always a little lost. Happily lost most of the time, but still, very very lost.
"Ball party?" She had to ask for clarification, looking up at the woman who had been nice enough to answer her question. Mia recognized the tone of voice she used and almost felt worried about asking another question, yet she asked it anyway. That same lost puppy look on her face, though there was now a sort of hope there too.
