He smiled a little bit and nodded. "Then I won't leave." And in fact, he made himself even more comfortable, resting his back up against the wall but keeping close to Violet, an arm still around her for the meantime. When it came to story time though he was likely to break out the hand gestures. He was quite a show when he got going.
He listened to the whole story; he remembered Abigail telling him how shocked she was that Violet would just take off her clothes like that, but truth be told, people with good bodies deserved to take it off whenever they wanted. He liked to think he was one of those privileged people that could strut around in the buff if he wanted, though right now he was perfectly happy sleeping naked at night and doing the decent thing and keeping pants on for the better part of the day. Though, he did seem to get more attention when he was shirtless in the arena; had to give the crowd what they were paying for, right?
"She isn't the fighting kind. She's my boss. Owner, they're called but I call her my boss. Don't like the idea of being someone else's property and I made that clear to her when she decided to buy me, though what she thinks of me I don't really know. Sometimes she opens up, she's a good gal though I've given her a lot of trouble and probably a lot more than she bargained for. But yeah, she told me about it the other day in the medical ward while we were waiting for a doctor to take care of her." He nodded a little bit. "Good on ya, teaches that guy to screw with a woman anymore. Provided he didn't get eaten by sharks or something." He laughed.
He nodded some when she asked, smiling again. "Yeah! I got sent back to 13th century Feudal Japan. I wanted to bring back katanas but they got lost in transit." He shrugged. "Could have stayed there though; Japan is where my heart is. Left it there years ago when I was first training. I fell in love with the land and the people and the food. It was perfect. Only thing I've ever been able to let myself love other than my Ma." He sounded a little childish at that, but he didn't care. It was true, really; he loved his mother, Japan, and swords. That was about it. One was gone forever, one was gone for the time being, and he hoped the third would never go away, but it was halfway around the world. He gave a heavy sigh. He missed his freedom.
