If it were just some game, Violet could and generally would refuse to play. Unfortunately, this was her life and despite the fact that her rolls just kept coming up snake eyes, she didn't have a choice but to keep right on playing. There was no way to opt out, except to die, a step she was certainly not prepared to take. It would have meant something drastic like hanging herself and Violet was not that kind of person.
Most of her choosing to throw up a wall around her emotions was to keep from hurting Victor and perhaps herself really. It would be way too easy to allow her emotions to run rampant and become a problem. At least, she was trying to keep from making herself and everyone else crazy.
The information about the Green Block owner being the one who destroyed everything went in one ear and out the other. Violet hadn't known the woman. So what if she destroyed two blocks other than the fact that she was also responsible for killing people that Violet cared about.
Her tears were quiet, but they were there. Violet leaned into the hug Victor offered and didn't say anything at all. There were no words left for her to say.
