Who: Anyone who shows up!
When: 1 PM
Where: The Ballroom
Cecilia felt like they'd done a good job, at least with preparation. The folding chairs were all set in a giant oval around the room, and more of them were occupied than she had dared hope for. By the doorway were refreshment tables, as well as a stack of notebooks, scrap paper, and writing utensils. Cecilia had taken a seat more or less in the middle, the back of the chair against the wall under one of the giant windows. When it felt like no one had entered the room in a while and they were probably as full as they were going to be, she stood up. She held a little clipboard she'd found with a few notes of direction and a pencil, held loosely in front of her as she took a sweeping look around the room.
"Okay, hi everyone, I think we should go ahead and get started. My name is Cecilia, for anyone I haven't met yet. Or, I guess, now you have a face to put to the name from the network. I really appreciate all of you that have shown up, even if you're thinking this is all a waste of time, just your willingness to give it a chance. I've asked you all here today because I think it's important to establish some basic safety procedures in the event of an emergency. My agenda for discussion is fire safety, medical emergencies, and then gauging interest and setting times for first aid training, and seeing what other helpful classes we might have volunteers for. If that doesn't take too long we'll tackle some other things, but honestly, if we do nothing but hammer out the finer details for fire safety and medical emergencies I would be very happy."
She shifted slightly, wrapping an arm around her clip board, and offered a small smile. "So. Fire safety. A while back I put fire extinguishers on every floor and marked their locations on the maps I put up near the elevators. We also have fire and water elementals that may be of assistance in such a scenario, but seeing as we don't have a great way of contacting each other in an emergency, it may not be the best use of time to try and track one of them down. And not every elemental is capable of the same things... we sort of have levels of proficiency and mastery over our respective elements. I was thinking we might make a list of volunteers who would be willing to be called upon, or take it upon themselves to act, in the event of a fire. Anyone who has any skill or experience, and trying to notate where these people are on each floor. I'm on the first floor and I would be willing to help, but I'd also be willing to make sure other occupants of the floor evacuated safely. And evacuation procedures are something I intend to cover as well."
